Former Mayor of New York, Rudy Giuliani, has made news by endorsing Donald Trump as the GOP nominee.
He recently appeared on Fox News’ “The Kelly File,” to explain his decision, citing his faith that Trump can beat Hillary Clinton.
He also had some strong words about his doubts over Sen. Ted Cruz.
According to Breitbart:
“[Trump’s] the best candidate and I think he by far has the best chance to beat Hillary Clinton, which is my major objective. If I thought Cruz had a better chance of beating Hillary Clinton, I would support Cruz. And I’ll tell you why — I think Cruz is a fastball that the Democrats have hit out of the park whenever they want. Straight, right-wing, very doctrinaire, very easy to beat, can’t win the Northeast or the West. Trump is a Mariano Rivera cut fastball.”
You’ll forgive the New Yorker for the baseball references. Mariano Rivera was the famed Yankee’s closer, whose signature pitch was nearly impossible to hit. Giuliani makes a strong comparison when he connects Mo with Donald Trump.
We now know Giuliani’s endorsement has not gone unheard, as Trump won New York on Tuesday.
