When conservatives make arguments, they usually try to use real, concrete facts.
When liberals make arguments, however, they use emotion – even if it means ignoring reality.
Liberals are so out of touch that they are willing to say almost anything to make people believe in their progressive agenda. No where is this more true than during debates about gun control.
The Left these days is obsessed with taking away our guns. They could care less that the Second Amendment clearly states, “the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
Additionally, the Left takes every opportunity available to push gun control, even if it means tastelessly bringing up the issue after a shooting.
Wednesday morning’s attack in Alexandria was no exception to this trend. Immediately after the shooting, Virginia’s Democratic Governor Terry McAuliffe decided to make the usual gun control argument.
Unsurprisingly, McAuliffe’s statements were completely detached from reality.
As reported by Breitbart:
While speaking to reporters about the shooting in Alexandria, Virginia, Governor Terry McAuliffe (D) said now is not the time to talk gun control but we must admit “we lose 93 million Americans a day to gun violence.”
McAuliffe said, “This is not what today is about, but there are too many guns on the street.”
Speaking to reporters, he said, “We lose 93 million Americans a day to gun violence. I’ve long talked about this. Background checks, shutting down gun show loopholes. That’s not for today’s discussion, but it’s not just about politicians. We worry about this every day for all of our citizens.”
Watch the video of McAuliffe’s unhinged remarks:
Like most liberals, McAuliffe’s opinions got in the way of the facts.
In his leftist mind, guns are so bad that they might as well be killing almost one-third of America’s population every day.
Of course, that is not true whatsoever. What McAuliffe meant to say was that guns kill 93 Americans every day, and even that figure barley proves his point, as most of those deaths are from guns that are illegally purchased in the first place.
The whole concept of gun control is a sham. The truth is, murderers will be murderers no matter what weapons are available to them. That is their nature, and no law will ever change that reality.
As a result, gun control would create more harm than good. Taking away guns from law-abiding citizens does not protect them from gun violence. Instead, it prevents them from protecting themselves and their families, and turns them into sitting ducks for the next would-be shooter.
Gun control, then, is merely a liberal ploy to make people more easy to control. There is a reason that one of the first policies enacted by almost every authoritarian regime throughout history has been to disarm the people.
If liberals want to take my guns, I ask that they at least be honest about their intentions. Really, I would much rather hear from their own mouths that they are engaged in a tyrannical power grab. These emotion-fueled lies are getting on my nerves.
