They tried to stop Trump’s nominee, but it went very badly for them.
Now that the Left is losing their stranglehold on the government, their political theatre is becoming more bizarre and desperate.
During the hearings for Judge Kavanaugh, the Left’s craziness has been on full display.
There have been over 200 arrests made. Protesters, including men, have smeared fake blood on their pants as they scream at Kavanaugh for being pro-life.
Their latest strategy involves accusing Kavanaugh of committing perjury during his hearings.
The Democratic Coalition tweeted that they had filed an ethics complaint against Kavanaugh, and were overjoyed that Obama’s failed Supreme Court pick would be reviewing the case.

But their jubilation may be a tad premature.

There are a few problems. For starters, one can’t simply “file” perjury charges: that’s the U.S. government’s job in cases where someone may have intentionally lied under oath in a federal hearing. The U.S. attorney general typically does not follow up on random complaints lodged with its fax machine during off hours and over weekends by issuing a warrant for the subject’s immediate arrest and detention.
Then, there’s the matter of Merrick Garland. He’s a court of appeals judge, which means he won’t be hearing an immediate plea to censure Kavanaugh for what The Democratic Coalition calls “ethical violations.” Those would need to be filed with the body that holds Kavanaugh’s law license, not a United States District Court, and certainly not a court that only takes cases up on appeal from an earlier judicial decision.
Additionally, there is no clear evidence Kavanaugh committed the perjury The Democratic Coalition is accusing him of.
But the left and the mainstream media don’t care if their accusations are valid. They’re just hoping that if they can throw enough outrage at conservatives, eventually something will stick.
It’s exactly what they’ve been doing to President Trump since he was elected.
The false accusation that Kavanaugh committed perjury will be repeated ad nauseum by the liberal media and believed by the impressionable.
But the Left’s underhanded tactics are failing spectacularly. Kavanaugh is fully expected to be appointed, solidifying the conservative majority on the Supreme Court for years, if not decades, to come.
