So far during this election campaign, Americans have watched liberals and leftists shamelessly attacking not only Trump supporters, but even each other. As summer heats up, it’s safe to say that these assaults will get more brazen and violent.
The question for many then is: What happens if Trump wins? It’s all too easy to imagine full scale riots breaking out in major Democratic cities. At that point, supporters of Hillary and Bernie will figure they literally have nothing to lose, and will excuse their behavior in classic liberal fashion: Equating their criminality with the Civil Rights Movement or even the American Revolution.
Rush Limbaugh has been watching and talking about the American political scene for over a quarter of a century. Recently on his #1 rated talk radio show, he mused about just such an eventuality:
“What’s gonna happen the day Trump gets inaugurated? What is the left gonna do?
“I think people are gonna be shocked at the degree to which the left intends to intimidate people into reversing that result. I think they’re gonna do everything they can to see it that Trump never does get inaugurated.” (…)
“Everything about the victory is gonna be attacked. The Democrats will throw lawyers and who knows whatever else at that outcome, demanding recounts here, recounts there, whatever, no matter how close it is.”
Today, groups like Black Lives Matter and the Occupy movement are entrenched and emboldened. They are more or less “professional demonstrators,” ready and willing to hit the streets. Add that to the inevitable cadre of lawyers on speed-dial to challenge a Trump victory in court. The combination is a recipe for unrest. Republican voters will have to prepare as best they can.
