Sometimes it’s easy to get so wrapped up in political topics that we forget there are ordinary people out there facing desperate circumstances, who get hardly any media attention or outside help.
One family is dealing with a parent’s worst nightmare right now.
The Independent Journal reports on the disappearance of Rachael Mattice after she drove to a campsite near Jamestown, New York. She hasn’t been heard from since sending her mother [Wendy] a text message on June 22.
Wendy also told Fox News that it isn’t in Rachael’s “nature” to take off without telling anyone. So on Friday, after two days of not hearing from their daughter, her father drove out to the camper. He found Rachael’s car and no sign of their daughter.
The Mattices have not heard from her since.
In an effort to spread awareness about Rachael’s disappearance, childhood friend Cynthia Nellis shared a heart-wrenching post on Facebook. In it, she asked for Rachael’s favorite singer for help— Shania Twain.
Twain responded via Twitter:
I’ve heard the story of Rachael Mattice & urge anyone with information to come forward to the police & help her return to her family.
Twain has an incredible 800,000 Twitter followers. Here’s hoping the singer’s message helps bring the missing 24-year-old home safely.
