When President Trump promised to reduce government spending and get Americans back to work–he meant it.
A part of that means getting people off the government’s teat. Encouraging Americans to get to work and provide for themselves is key in reducing the federal government’s debt and help people help themselves.
It looks like his policies are working, as big news about food stamps have come out.
Food stamp usage under the Trump administration has taken a nosedive at both the state and national levels, thanks to federal and state policies giving people incentives to choose work over welfare…
Participation in the program is at its lowest level since 2010, when 40,302,000 people enrolled in the program. The first time food stamp usage dropped to its lowest level since 2010 was in July, when enrollment dropped to 42,609,852…
Food stamp usage has continued to decline each month of Trump’s presidency, and so far the trend does not show any signs of stopping…
Over the past year alone, states such as Georgia and Alabama have rolled out work requirements for their respective food stamp programs that require those who get benefits to work at least 20 hours per week, enroll in school, or take part in state-approved job training if they receive benefits for more than three months.
Both states have seen large decreases in food stamp enrollment as a result of the newly-implemented work requirements.
It’s a funny thing. When the government reduces food stamp recipients look for work, enrollment drops! This is because when people find work, they no longer need food stamps. Others? They just don’t want to work!
The jobs market is improving and companies are moving back to the U.S. Stocks are surging and enthusiasm is high. This all results in more Americans working, earning cash, and buying their own food.
The statistics don’t lie. Most people don’t want to be dependent on the government. They want to work hard and provide for their families themselves. Thankfully, things are shaping up that fewer and fewer will have to rely on the government for their basic needs.
And that’s something we can all be happy about.
