Speculation continues over the men and women Donald Trump selects for top roles in his administration.
Over the last week, people have argued at the possible selection of Mitt Romney for Secretary of State. Romney—former GOP candidate for President—was outspoken in his opposition of Trump during the election. It came as a shock to many Americans that he would have any role in a Trump White House, especially as SoS.
There has been no final word over who Trump might select, but the media continues to watch Trump Tower as notable figures come in and out of the building.
Former General David Petraeus was hosted for an interview with Trump, and the public is getting immediate feedback as to the President-Elect’s response.
From Yahoo News:
President-elect Donald Trump stepped up his search on Monday for a new U.S. secretary of state, with the focus on David Petraeus, a former U.S. military commander in Iraq whose mishandling of classified information led to his resignation as CIA chief in 2012.
Just met with General Petraeus–was very impressed!

Petraeus said after meeting Trump that the New York businessman “basically walked us around the world” in their discussion. “He showed a great grasp of the variety of challenges that are out there and some of the opportunities as well,” Petraeus told reporters.
It’s very likely that Trump will offer Petraeus—a serviceman with an impressive, albeit tarnished record—a role in his cabinet.
Trump defended Petraeus during the campaign, contrasting his mistakes in the CIA with the much grievous ones of Hillary Clinton. Petraeus’ success in the Iraq War made him a popular figure in the media at the time. No doubt his experience in the military and overseas can be valuable in Trump’s administration.
We don’t yet know Trump’s final pick for SoS. Rest assured, it will be the best person for the job, as Trump refuses to play politics as usual.
