Donald Trump is estimated to have earned over $2 billion in free media during the primary.
By comparison, Jeb Bush raised and spent just over $125 million and earned a fraction of that in free media coverage.
It is clear that the press and the viewers that come with every Trump appearance have been essential to his success.
But now Hillary Clinton is telegraphing a “live by the sword, die by the sword” strategy.
She is imploring the media to go after Trump on her behalf, essentially turning his greatest strength into a weakness.
Does this strategy have any chance of working?
