Democrats will lose the House in the new year. So, we shouldn’t be surprised that they are scrambling to get one last massive spending bill through. The new funding bill for 2023 is over 3,000 pages long and will cost taxpayers nearly $2 trillion.
Because this session will end in days, Democrats are trying to rush this bill through. Before anyone can even read it! Just initial reviews reveal the bill will flood left-wing causes with hundreds of millions of dollars. Outraged, the soon-to-be House Speaker gives the Senate some bad news.
House Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said that the omnibus spending bill is being passed through a process where no one can read it and without any committee process, and “when we take the majority, we won’t allow the Senate bills to come up unless they move through committee. We won’t allow them to do an omnibus again.” […]
“…We won’t allow them to do an omnibus again. But we need to stop this one now, let us craft one in the beginning of next year where we can save and eliminate waste, but actually save money for the taxpayer as well.”
Unless all Senate Republicans oppose the current massive spending bill, it will get passed at the 11th hour. Kevin McCarthy is on a rampage, calling on the GOP to block this bill so they can craft something much better in the new year.
He vowed that not a single spending bill will be passed without going through committee review. McCarthy has vowed to shut down this left-driven scheme to rush through bills that cost America trillions with a single attempt at oversight.
The future Speaker blasted two senators, Leahy and Shelby, who are pushing this bill. Both of them, one a Democrat and the other a Republican, are leaving the Senate after this year. So, it doesn’t matter to them if this thing tanks America. They are cutting and running, getting what they can before they get out.
Under the new Congress, Republicans like McCarthy have promised to end this kind of thing. He wants Republicans to block this current bill in the Senate. It might lead to a short government shutdown over Christmas (which plenty of Americans will welcome), but the GOP can craft a better bill in January.
That sounds like a good idea, right? We’ll see if there are enough real Republicans in the Senate to take him up on that.
- Kevin McCarthy blasted the Senate for rushing a massive spending bill before the end of the year.
- He vowed that under the new Congress, every spending bill will face committee review.
- Several retiring senators are pushing the bloated bill, which will cost Americans nearly $2 trillion.
