It should come as no surprise to anyone that during his final months in office, Barack Obama will reek as much havoc as he deems necessary to implement the last stages of his agenda.
Obama never misses an opportunity to thumb his nose at conservatives and the traditions that they hold dear, but he may have outsmarted himself this time.
By directing the Treasury Department to replace Andrew Jackson’s likeness with that of Harriet Tubman’s on the twenty dollar bill, Obama must have surely thought to raise the ire of “Those racist right wingers.”
To the contrary most Americans celebrate the change.
Harriet Tubman was a strong woman who packed a pistol with her at all times, not the perpetual victim in a White House narrative as Obama likes to portray everyone.
She is in fact the antithesis of everything he stands for. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee offered some interesting insights on the situation in a story in the Conservative Tribune.
Huckabee went to Facebook yesterday to point out something that the Obama administration doesn’t want America to know: that America just replaced a racist liberal with a gun-toting Republican who strongly believed in the right to self-defense. “Personally, I have no problem with that, although I wonder if they realize they’re replacing one of the racist founders of the Democrat Party with a black, female, Republican gun owner.”
This quote from Harriet Tubman says quite a lot about her character, from the National Review:
“I had reasoned this out in my mind; there was one of two things I had a right to, liberty, or death; if I could not have one, I would have the other; for no man should take me alive; I should fight for my liberty as long as my strength lasted, and when the time came for me to go, the Lord would let them take me.”
So, Harriet Tubman was a Republican and a “Bitter Clinger,” not exactly Obama’s kind of person.
When reports began circulating of changes to the portraits on the currency who among us would’ve been surprised to see a one hundred dollar bill with Obama’s smiling face on it but perhaps we shouldn’t give him any ideas.
Maybe Barack Hussein Obama isn’t pictured on our greenbacks, but his name is indelibly written on 19 trillion dollars of debt!
