Huffington Post SLAMS Hillary…”She Should Immediately…” – WHOA!

President Lyndon Johnson didn’t actually say, “If I’ve lost Walter Cronkite, I’ve lost Middle America” after the CBS anchorman expressed doubts about the progress of the Vietnam War.

But the following story makes it hard not to think of those “legendary” words. It turns out one of the most popular leftist websites has broken the embargo against reporting news that’s unflattering to Hillary Clinton.

If Clinton has “lost” the Huffington Post, has she lost the left? That’s what it looks like:

The Huffington Post, one of the world’s most trafficked news sites, featured a headline on Sunday calling for the closure of the embattled Clinton Foundation. The left-wing outlet’s front page banner linked to a New York Times article, which highlights, among other things, that Bill and Hillary Clinton’s billion dollar nonprofit has “accepted tens of millions of dollars from countries that the State Department — before, during and after Mrs. Clinton’s time as secretary — criticized for their records on sex discrimination and other human-rights issues.”

The Huffington Post is just the latest outlet to acknowledge that the explosive research, found first in Peter Schweizer’s New York Times bestselling book Clinton Cash, has inspired a massive movement of journalists and political figures — on the left, right, and center — calling on the Clintons to dismantle their problematic nonprofit. (…)

For weeks, the Democratic presidential candidate has been bombarded with questions about the apparent global nexus of influence peddling involving top aids to Clinton offering preferential treatment to million-dollar Clinton Foundation donors when she was the head of the State Department.

There is probably more going on here than the media getting a late-onset attack of integrity and conscience. The Huffington Post’s readers are the types who also backed Bernie Sanders, and those supporters are disillusioned with the Democratic Party and furious at Hillary Clinton. In rigging the system so Sanders would waste months campaigning for a job he really had no chance of getting, Hillary might have won the battle, but ultimately lost the war.
