It’s a known fact that radical Islamic terrorist groups–al Qaeda and ISIS–use sophisticated outreach programs to convert American citizens.
They have well-produced magazines, websites, and extensive networks across social media to sway young Muslims to fight for their cause. Americans are picking up arms in the name of jihad, thanks to the rhetoric of these groups.
While we struggle with trying to limit this kind of cancer, there are surely other steps we can take to prevent dangerous individuals from entering our country.
Yet for decades the US government has opened a door to migrants from the Middle East, who neither hold allegiance with our country, nor echo our values and beliefs.
It is many of these individuals who are swayed by radical Islam, or come in already believing in their toxic agenda. Don’t believe that? We’ve got proof.
Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, 26, of Sterling, a former member of the Army National Guard, was arrested on July 3 for attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)… Jalloh is alleged to have attempted to provide services by assisting in the procurement of weapons to be used in what he believed was going to be an attack on U.S. soil committed in the name of ISIL. In addition, the complaint alleges that Jalloh attempted to provide material support to ISIL by providing money to assist in the facilitation of individuals seeking to join ISIL.
Since 2001, the U.S. has permanently resettled nearly 1.7 million migrants from Muslim nations on green cards—including more than 30,000 migrants from Sierra Leone.
Because Jalloh was given U.S. citizenship, he would have been able to vote in U.S. elections, access federal benefits, and—through chain migration—bring family members into the country, who could potentially hold anti-American sentiments.
Becoming a US citizen is no easy thing. There are security and background checks that must be made. I find it hard to believe that the government did not find any red flags in Jalloh’s background. Perhaps they were swayed to look the other way, because he was a Muslim. Perhaps political correctness motivated the government to give a future terrorist citizen status.
That fact remains that our government is negligent when it comes to welcoming outsiders into our country. They are soft on deporting Mexican illegals who commit violent crimes. Now we know they are practically aiding supports of ISIS.
This nation has thrived because of immigrants. We’ve grown into a great country because of the hard working people who resettled here from all over the world. But the uniting factor among all immigrants is their acceptance of American values and traditions. They embraced the freedoms that make our country great.
Yet there is a tide of immigrants who do not reflect those values. They come here, welcomed and sponsored by our government, and are never encouraged to adopt our ways of life. They hold onto toxic, close-minded, and oppressive ideals that sow the seeds of terrorism.
Unless our government ends this policy of stupidity, more native-terrorists will be created.
