It was only in the recent past that tensions between the United States and Iran were extremely tense. The Middle Eastern nation was not backing down when it came to their nuclear program and it did not look good for the future of the region.
While there were peace talks and a settlement between both countries, once again tensions have ramped up.
These revelations only come a few days after one of the lead advisers to the White House, Ben Rhodes, said that during the deal with Iran that was made in 2015 the public was misled as to the structure of the agreement.
He made the claim that while they started talking after the election with the President of Ian, Hassan Rouhani, they had already been in deep conversations with the Islamists in the region.
Now, the Islamists are threatening to take down any US warships that come near to the coast of Iran. These threats were made by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). This threat was released by one of the public media outlets in Iran.
The leader of the group had this to say on the government controlled media outlet:
“We have informed Americans that their presence in the Persian Gulf is an absolute evil. Americans are aware that Iran would destroy their warships if they take a wrong measure in the region.”
This threat would use a supposed “secret arsenal” that Iran has developed, according to a report by The Washington Times.
He also made threats about Americans getting other countries involved in the affairs of Middle Eastern countries.
There are concerns that the U.S. does not know the full extent of the capabilities of the navy in Iran and their ability to launch advanced missiles.
