Biden can’t afford to let gas prices go up just days before the elections. Yet he finds himself in a world of trouble, as his fair-weathered buddies in the Middle East just decided to cut production.

A group of some of the world’s most powerful oil producers on Wednesday agreed to impose deep output cuts, seeking to spur a recovery in crude prices despite calls from the U.S. to pump more to help the global economy.

OPEC and non-OPEC allies, a group often referred to as OPEC+, decided at their first face-to-face gathering in Vienna since 2020 to reduce production by 2 million barrels per day from November.

If only the United States could counter this underhanded move by producing our own oil? That would have been what Trump (or any sensible president) would have done.

But Biden is determined to keep America’s energy sector shut down. And he is turning to the very last person imaginable to save his bacon. From The Daily Caller:

The Biden administration proposed a deal that will ease sanctions on Venezuela, allowing Chevron to pump oil in the country after the consortium agreed to its largest production cut since the COVID-19 pandemic, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

The U.S. will unfreeze hundreds of millions of dollars of Venezuelan state funds held up in American banks and in exchange, the country will allow Chevron to produce oil on its lands.

How stupid is Biden? Seriously. We have untold, untapped energy under our feet. America can provide enough oil for itself and counties around the world.

And we are facing an energy shortfall since OPEC+ will be cutting back its production by millions of barrels. Yet Biden continues to deny American companies from drilling on federal land, over questionable environmental concerns. But he has no problem lifting sanctions on a corrupt, communist regime, so it can produce more oil.

Am I taking crazy pills, or is he?

Biden is looking to Venezuela, which is ruled by a dictator, to address our energy shortfall. He is willing to unfreeze hundreds of millions of dollars for this corrupt government–in exchange for oil. Call me crazy, but drilling for oil in one country has the same environmental impact as drilling in another.

How can Biden shut down U.S. energy production, to “save” the plant, but encourage other countries to do the very thing? Maybe this has nothing to do with environmentalism, huh? Maybe this is about putting America last and making the Democrats’ allies overseas happy? We can’t be sure, but it makes no sense that Biden is going to another country for oil, when we can fix this problem ourselves.

Very America-last, no matter how you slice it.
