Suggested title: Kid Rock Is Keeping Elizabeth Warren Up At Night
Subheading: The Massachusetts Senator is worried that the Michigan rocker’s potential Senate run is the latest sign of the apocalypse – or at least that’s how she’s trying to spin it to drum up cash for re-election efforts.
Things are really bad right about now, and there’s a strong chance that they’re about to get worse. At least that’s gist of an email that Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) dropped on her supporters.
Warren’s email was inspired by last week’s announcement that Kid Rock intends to seek a Senate nod in his home state of Michigan.

As the Boston Herald points out, this presented a perfect opportunity for Warren to engage in a little fear-mongering with her supporters.
I know a lot of people are thinking: this is some sort of joke, right? Well, maybe this is all a joke — but we all thought Donald Trump was joking when he rode down the escalator at Trump Tower and announced his campaign, too.
And sure, maybe this is just a marketing gimmick for a new album or tour — but we all thought Donald Trump was just promoting his reality TV show, too.
For those that are thinking that it’s incredibly helpful of Warren to keep her supporters abreast of goings on in the state of Michigan, you can quickly dismiss that thought as being off the mark.
There’s also a handy link to a fundraising page in the email. That link points those that click on it to a page in which they can drop some cash to support Michigan Democratic U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow and Warren’s own 2018 re-election campaign.
How noble and altruistic of her! Or not. In essence, Warren has gone ahead and dropped a tried and true Democratic fundraising effort that consists of three parts: Insert headline, try to scare the daylights out of people, ask for cash.
In short, nothing terribly surprising, but it remains absolutely stunning that these things actually manage to inspire supporters to part ways with their cash.
