The United States is simply not making enough headway in the never-ending war at the border dealing in illegals, sex trafficking and drugs.
Ford Motor Company has been an ongoing battle with Trump, dating back during the 2016 campaign, when they promised to bring more jobs back to America.
Well it looks like they are bringing something to America—but it’s not jobs, and the President is not going to be happy about how they let this get past their detection.
As Vindy.com shares, here’s one of the latest eye-popping ways drug cartels were able to get $1M in contraband all the way up to Ohio via new Ford vehicles.
The marijuana was found last week inside the wheel well for a spare tire in a new Ford Fusion which was manufactured in Sonora, Mexico, at a Ford dealership in Kent, after one of the vehicles was unloaded from a car carrier, Balzano said.
Investigators were then able to find 14 more packages of marijuana in other Fusions, which all came through a rail yard in Warren.
All together, about 14.5 per kilos per car, or 400 pounds of marijuana, was found. It has a street value between $400,000 to $1 million.
A similar discovery was made earlier this year in Minnesota. The Youngstown Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the Portage County Sheriff’s Office are investigating how this could possibly happen.
“We’re aware of the situation and are taking it very seriously,” said Kelli Felker, Ford’s communication manager for manufacturing & labor. “We are working with the FBI and Customs on an extensive investigation. We have confirmed that this is not happening at our plant or at our internal shipping yards.”
This amounts to a gigantic slap in the face moment from drug smugglers south of the border.
For every dealer that gets popped and every drug smuggling operation that gets broken up, there are scores of others waiting in the wings to fill the void.
Part of the problem lays in the fact that cartels view the open border between the US and Mexico as a green light. While border patrol agents do their best to control things, the fact of the matter is that they are overwhelmed – absent the border wall that President Donald Trump continues to push for.
The way things are currently structured, cartels manage to get drugs across the border using any means necessary.
In addition to enticing corporations to move their manufacturing operations to Mexico for cheaper labor, the country sends back a thank you gift in the form of more drugs to go out on the streets. But you can bet the Mexican government has lost a lot of leverage with the Trump administration over this incident.
Those that think we don’t need a wall and increased enforcement at the border are beginning to resemble those that are constantly under the influence of the wacky stuff.
