Americans were stunned when they learned that Bowe Bergdahl, the traitor who fled his post, was released without penalty. That soldier disobeyed orders, fled his responsibilities, went AWOL, and caused six brave soldiers to die.
Former President Obama actually traded terrorists to release this coward, another act in a long line of rewarding criminals and insulting our nation.
Bergdahl betrayed his nation. His actions led to American deaths. Yet the judge saw fit to set him free, because of comments Trump made years ago.
From NOQ Report:
Bowe Bergdahl, whose desertion led to multiple casualties of fellow servicemen, will not serve any jail time. He was dishonorably discharged and is now a free man.
With up to a life sentence on the table, the prosecution asked for 14 years.
“Sgt. Bergdahl does not have a monopoly on suffering as a result of his choices,” said Maj. Justin Oshana, a prosecutor. “The difference is, all the suffering stems from his choice…”
The judge in the case cited President Trump’s comments. The sentencing had been delayed when the President said last month he couldn’t talk about the case, “but I think people have heard my comments in the past…”
In closing arguments, defense attorneys argued that Bergdahl already had suffered enough confinement during five years of brutal captivity by Taliban allies. They asked the judge for a dishonorable discharge and no prison time. Their argument for leniency also cited harsh campaign-trail criticism by Donald Trump and Bergdahl’s mental disorders.
Once again, liberal judges have allowed their toxic, broken politics to corrupt their rulings. Bergdahl should have been punished for his crimes. At the very least, he should have faced jail time because of his break of trust.
Yet a limp-wristed, pathetic, unreliable judge ruled to set him free, due in part to bogus claims of mental disorder and Trump. Apparently Donald Trump confronting a coward who betrayed the nation gives a man the right to get away with crimes.
Trump’s words were fully justified and echoed by most Americans. What bearing do they have on this man’s actions and a criminal ruling, anyway? Mind you, these weren’t words spoken while he was President. Trump didn’t use his influence in office to alter the ruling.
This is once again an example of judges violating their authority because of something Trump said in the past they didn’t like. Sorry judges, you don’t get to make decisions based on your terrible opinions. The actions of Bergdahl happened long before Trump was president. This soldier was a coward and traitor and deserves punishment.
If liberal judges continue these actions, what will happen next? Americans will lose faith in their courts, leading to a breakdown of our legal system. Unless these judges are replaced, anarchy is very possible.
All I can say for Bergdahl is, he won’t like life outside of jail.
