There is a disturbing trend among states led by Democrats.
Once upon a time, a state is doing very well. Businesses are thriving and people are eager to lay down roots.
All thanks to smart, effective, conservative leadership.
Then, the worst happens: a Democrat gets into power. Suddenly things change in a big way.
It becomes impossible for business owners to make a living. Companies flee, taking jobs with them. The wealth-makers depart to greener pastures, where taxes and regulations aren’t so abusive.
That leaves the middle and working classes in dire straits. They can’t afford to leave and they suffer a drop in jobs and opportunity.
That has happened time and again across the country. Now, it’s happening in a new place.
From Zero Hedge:
Since the birth of the automobile and the development of the highway system in the 1950s, the State of Connecticut has been associated with wealth…
But thanks to the progressive income tax policies enacted under Democratic Gov. Dannel Malloy, that reputation could soon change…
The number of tax filers with an adjusted gross income of $1 million or more fell to 10,990 in 2016, a 4% decline from the previous year, according to the IRS. The cumulative adjusted gross income this group reported also shrank to $36.11 billion over this time period, a 13% drop.
It’s amazing to think Democrats try to get away with this, over and over again.
They are like a cancer. They find a healthy state with good government and leadership.
They attach themselves to it by bamboozling their way into office.
Then they proceed to weigh the state down with massive spending, runaway taxes, and corrupt officials who give out perks to crooked businesses.
Soon a once healthy city or state is in ruins.
Liberal Gov. Dannel Malloy doesn’t care how badly he hurts Connecticut. He bought his votes with promises of increased welfare and other benefits.
But with those bloated programs comes poverty, massive taxes, and a decrease in employment.
That leads to disaster.
Rich, business owners can’t thrive when taxes are sky high. And the few who can—why should they bother to stay? They can easily pull up stakes and move.
Malloy—and the rest of the Democratic Party—don’t care. They are siphoning all that money in their own pockets. And when the state is penniless and ruined, they will retire to live comfortably.
It’s exactly what Barack Obama did to the entire country.
This scenario will happen again and again, so long as Democrats are voted into office. Guess the mid-terms are more important than we thought.
