In the aftermath of the Las Vegas shooting, liberals on Capitol Hill are at it again. They are using the tragedy to push their anti-gun policies. Their ultimate goal, of course, is to rob Americans of their Second Amendment rights. But the NRA had some choice words for them, words that will resonate with many Americans.
Talk of banning or regulating “bump stock” accessories has grown, as liberals and gun control advocates blame these devices for the shooting. Obviously they put no blame on Stephen Paddock, the man who actually committed the crime.
But the NRA has reminded the government that the bump stocks were approved by Obama’s ATF on two occasions. Perhaps that organization is best left to reevaluate the device. Congress? Yeah, they should be doing their job and empowering all Americans with national reciprocity.
That way, more Americans will be armed and ready to protect themselves.
The National Rifle Association (NRA) released a statement on October 5 calling on Congress to allow the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) re-evaluate bump stocks while Congress gets on with the work people have been waiting for since January 3: national reciprocity.
In other words, the NRA is calling on members of Congress to squash talk of more gun control by moving the bump stock discussion back where it began in 2010: with the ATF…
In the aftermath of the evil and senseless attack in Las Vegas, the American people are looking for answers as to how future tragedies can be prevented. Unfortunately, the first response from some politicians has been to call for more gun control. Banning guns from law-abiding Americans based on the criminal act of a madman will do nothing to prevent future attacks…
So the NRA is asking Congress to end the gun control talk arising from the bump stock by sending it to the ATF, away from Congress’s purview. They say this with hopes that Congress will then become serious about passing concealed carry reciprocity.
As it stands right now, if you have a concealed carry permit in on state, that doesn’t carry any water in any other. So law-abiding Americans and gun owners are vulnerable, whenever they travel across the country.
National reciprocity will mean that your conceal carry permit will be validate throughout the entire country. That’s a big step in empowering Americans and upholding the Second Amendment. But what will Congress do?
Right now liberals are pushing for greater gun control. This, despite the fact that the Las Vegas shooter was violating various gun laws when he commited his act. Logic dictates that more laws won’t solve the problem or prevent future crimes. They only punish law-abiding Americans.
But we know that’s the left’s goal all along. They want to destroy the Second Amendment, forcing Americans to be dependent on the government for their safety. This bump stock issue is only another step in the Democrat’s war against our rights.
If Congress refuses to pass national reciprocity, Americans are watching. Why should we support leaders who don’t listen to our needs and instead try to rob us of our rights? The 2018 election is only a few years away, guys. Wake up.
