Time is running out for Obama and his administration. With only a few weeks left until he is put out of the White House, Obama is scrambling to do everything he can to leave something of a legacy behind.
Of course, the type of legacy that Obama wants to leave behind isn’t one that many Americans want. Obama’s latest focus is doling out punishment for the results of the 2016 Presidential Election.
He, and the rest of the democrats, just can’t get past the fact that Donald Trump won the election. And he would have won with or without any help from Wikileaks or hacks.
However, this doesn’t matter to the democrats. They are just grasping at straws to save face from an overwhelming Hillary defeat. So they are going after the only thing for which they can blame a Trump victory.
According to the Washington Post…
The Obama administration is close to announcing a series of measures to punish Russia for its interference in the 2016 presidential election, including economic sanctions and diplomatic censure, according to U.S. officials.
Business Insider goes on to say that, a number of punitive measures were on the table, including “economic sanctions and diplomatic censure.” Other methods may include covert cyber-operations, the officials said.
The Obama administration was apparently trying to work out exactly how consequences for Russia could be carried out, according to The Post, which said the language in Obama’s 2015 executive order that gave him authority to respond to foreign cyberattacks “did not cover efforts to influence the electoral system.”
Not only is Obama planning on punishing Russia, but he wants to do it in a way so that Trump can’t make any changes once he takes office.
Obama administration insiders cited by The Post said measures would be taken to make it difficult for the Trump administration to roll back any punishments against the Kremlin.
Of course Russia claims to not have had any involvement in the hacks, and they accused Democrats of being “sore losers.” We couldn’t agree more.
