Exposed: Obama Took Illegal Action To Eliminate Trump…And Now There’s PROOF!

No one has settled on a catchy nickname for it yet — #Wiretapgate just doesn’t quite cut it — but it may be the biggest scandal in President Trump’s still-new administration:

His accusation that the Obama administration ordered the wiretapping of Trump Towers in the latter days of the election.

It was the biggest story of the weekend, in any event, prompted by Trump’s tweets:

Obama spokesperson Valerie Jarrett — whose relationship with the ex-president took a weird turn after she recently and inexplicably moved into his Hawaii home — responded:

Interestingly, even a one-time Obama speech writer wasn’t impressed by the carefully parsed, lawyerly reactions from the Obama camp:

Then President Trump received some qualified backup from an unlikely source, considering his somewhat negative relationship with the Bush family.

Michael Mukasey, former Bush Attorney General, appeared with Martha Raddatz on ABC’s “This Week” and seemed to back up Favreau’s caution:

Former Attorney General Michael Mukasey on Sunday said that President Trump is likely correct that there was surveillance on Trump Tower for intelligence purposes, but incorrect in accusing former President Barack Obama of ordering the wiretapping.

“I think he’s right in that there was surveillance and that it was conducted at the behest of the attorney general — at the Justice Department.” (…)

“It means there was some basis to believe that somebody in Trump Tower may have been acting as an agent of the Russians for whatever purpose. Not necessarily the election, but for some purpose.”

As Virginia Kruta noted, the media spin is set to “high” on this one:

And while some believe that this is just evidence that the Obama administration was working through the DOJ to discredit Donald Trump prior to the election, ABC chose to frame the narrative differently: “Former Bush AG: Wiretap would mean suspicion of someone acting as Russian ‘agent’.”

Indeed, the mainstream media’s headlines have been masterpieces of passive voice non-reporting as this story unfolds and evidence points to President Trump being correct yet again.

Obama’s spokesperson is already denying these allegations, saying in broad terms that Obama never initiated any surveillance on any American citizen.  That is patently false, and Americans already have proof that he spied on American journalists:

Could this scandal turn out to be Obama’s Watergate?

If so, members of the Obama administration, including Obama himself, could wind up in prison.

That’s the extreme best case scenario, of course, and such an eventuality would be years in the future given the glacial rate of official investigations.

For now, this complex story is set to remain the number one controversy in America for some time to come.
