It’s clear that Orlando shooter Omar Mateen, though born and raised in America, held a strong allegiance to international terrorist organization ISIS.
Although he was investigated by the FBI (who ignored the threat he posed) and made plenty of statements against America, he was allowed to enter a nightclub and kill 50 people.
We are learning more about how vocal this terrorist was about his hatred for the West and his support for ISIS.
Not only did he talk about attacking America leading up to that fateful day, he continued to post his love and support for ISIS on Facebook DURING THE ATTACK.
While Facebook and other social networks scrambled to take down his accounts and hide the truth, one senator, Homeland Security Chairman Ron Johnson, uncovered the damming evidence.
From Fox News:
In the hours after he blasted his way into an Orlando gay nightclub, and with his victims lying dead or wounded around him, Omar Mateen took to Facebook to pledge his loyalty to ISIS and threaten more attacks on the civilized world, a key lawmaker privy to the gunman’s posts told FoxNews.com Wednesday.
“I pledge my alliance to (ISIS leader) abu bakr al Baghdadi..may Allah accept me,” Mateen wrote in one post early Sunday morning. “The real muslims will never accept the filthy ways of the west” …“You kill innocent women and children by doing us airstrikes..now taste the Islamic state vengeance.”
Senator Johnson and his staff uncovered shocking information about Mateen’s social media activity. He used social media to research other terrorist attacks, including looking for information about the killer husband and wife from San Bernardino. Days before the attack he even posted on Facebook: “In the next few days you will see attacks from the Islamic state in the usa.”
Now the question begs, why didn’t ANYONE report this man’s suspicious behavior? People praise social media for connecting us in new ways, in how it opens the world to its users. Yet when individuals make direct threats to our country, everyone looks the other way.
Why didn’t Facebook or other social networks report this man’s’ posts? Recently we’ve seen how Facebook actively censors posts they don’t like and hampers conservative voices. Twitter recently suspended conservative speaker Milo Yiannopoulos’ account for criticizing Islam. Yet an actual terrorists regularly post threats to our country and these companies do nothing.
It’s clear networks like Facebook don’t care about the freedom and lives of Americans, especially conservatives, but will protect terrorists and radical Muslims.
