Republican Hawley Makes Jarring Midterm Prediction: Senator Claims If GOP Wins, Multiple Biden Allies Will Quit

The midterm elections are getting closer and recent polls are showing a Democrat surge. However, Republicans are still hopeful they’ll flip the House and Senate.

If they can manage to reclaim control of the chambers, the GOP intends to launch a series of bills and probes that could really shake up Washington.

And one Republican leader believes numerous Biden staffers won’t be around for it.

The divide in D.C. – which man citizens say they see in everyday life – has evidently gotten worse, as Democrats and Republicans seem increasingly at odds.

Their inability to work together and clash of ideology can be seen in the voting on certain bills, as most times there’s just voting straight down party lines.

And if the GOP regains control, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) thinks Democrats won’t be able to handle another party being in control.

From Fox News:

Hawley, R-Mo., told Fox News Digital during an interview at the National Conservatism Conference that administration officials would likely rather quit than deal with an empowered Republican Congress.

‘I think a lot of these administration officials, if and when [Republicans] retake the house and win the Senate, I predict they won’t find it so congenial to serve in that kind of environment,’ said Hawley.

Hawley specifically cited officials in the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI, as these branches have become “too politicized to withstand GOP oversight.”

The Senator believes some people will leave because Republicans could expose wrongdoing:

They don’t want to actually be accountable.

So, I think you’ll probably see some departures and maybe that won’t happen, but I think it will.

It’s important to remember that Republicans have prepared far-reaching investigations, which would kick off if the GOP storms back in November.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) vowed to make government accountability a very real goal:

The Department of Justice has reached an intolerable state of weaponized politicization.

When Republicans take back the House, we will conduct immediate oversight of their department, follow the facts, and leave no stone unturned.

Right-wing leaders have been swearing to investigate the Biden administration for a variety of issues, ranging from the pandemic to the border crisis.

There’s also the lingering issue of Afghanistan, which has haunted the President since the Taliban’s takeover and the questionable evacuation that followed.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see numerous Democrats disappearing from Washington if the GOP takes over.

Though it’s also possible that more Republicans could leave if Democrats manage to retain power throughout Washington.

Key Takeaways:

  • Sen. Josh Hawley predicts an exodus of Democrat officials from D.C. if the GOP wins in November.
  • He says certain branches have become “too politicized,” and that some will escape to avoid accountability.
  • Republicans have promised wide-reaching investigations.
