Congress Just Did Something AWESOME…Obama Is FURIOUS, But America Is CHEERING!

Republican voters haven’t had much to celebrate during the Obama administration.

Even after the Tea Party revolt and mid-term election wins, the Congressional GOP hasn’t exactly been carrying out the will of the people who put them in office.

This week, however, the House Republicans finally did something not just praiseworthy, but downright radical. Furthermore, the lawmaker leading the charge is someone who grassroots conservatives have been highly critical of lately.

The Washington Free Beacon reports:

House Republicans, led by Speaker Paul Ryan (R., Wis.), have introduced their tax reform plan, which would simplify the tax code so it could fit on a postcard. (…)

The plan would lower taxes for Americans at every income level and would limit the number of tax brackets to three. It would lower the corporate tax rate from the highest in the world to 20 percent, and would lower the top individual tax rate to 33 percent. (…)

Additionally, the plan would repeal the death tax, eliminate the alternative minimum tax, cut taxes on small businesses to 25 percent, and cut taxes on saving and investment, just to name a few of the reforms included in the proposal.

No doubt countless American conservatives and libertarians will read that and think they’re dreaming. The proposal is practically a tax reform “wish list.”

It’s important to remember, however, that it’s just that: A proposal. Nobody should fire their accountant just yet. First, voters should hold the GOP’s feet to the fire and make sure these reforms get passed.
