After Romney Attacks POTUS, He’s Stabbed In The Back By His OWN Flesh And Blood!

For a while, it looked as if Mitt Romney and Donald Trump had buried the hatchet.

The two former adversaries hadn’t really fought since Trump won the White House, and Romney was mostly silent.

Well, he isn’t silent any longer.

Senator-elect Romney just wrote a scathing op-ed in The Post, blasting the President for “not rising to the mantle of the office.”

It was a generally negative piece concerning the Commander-in-Chief, and many Republicans felt betrayed.

In fact, Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel was absolutely furious.

And here’s the kicker: it’s Mitt’s own niece!

She quickly jumped on Twitter and unleashed:

POTUS is attacked and obstructed by the MSM media and Democrats 24/7.

For an incoming Republican freshman senator to attack @realdonaldtrump as their first act feeds into what the Democrats and media want and is disappointing and unproductive.

McDaniel doesn’t care that Mitt is her uncle; she wanted to defend her President!

As for Trump, he also responded to Romney’s burning op-ed piece, first wondering if Mitt would become another Jeff Flake, a big-time Trump-hater in the GOP.

Then he said Romney would be much better off focusing on things that matter, like border security:

Here we go with Mitt Romney, but so fast! Question will be, is he a Flake? I hope not.

Would much prefer that Mitt focus on Border Security and so many other things where he can be helpful.

I won big, and he didn’t. He should be happy for all Republicans. Be a TEAM player & WIN!

Remember, this is a big flip-flop for Romney.

At one time, he said Trump was “bringing the country together” and “inspiring Americans.”

What changed?

Well, Mitt probably just wanted to get on the media’s good side, and we all know there’s one guaranteed way to do that:

Bash Trump.

So from a PR standpoint, we understand. But from a GOP standpoint, it just creates more infighting and tension.

Really, we need politicians who are actually focusing on critical issues in America, not politicians who just cause more problems.

Wouldn’t you agree?
