Democrats shut down the government in their wall fight with Trump – now they’re paying a high price.
Despite what the media says, this shutdown is entirely the Democrats’ fault.
Trump tried to work with them. Time and again, he’s offered to negotiate and make deals.
But liberals in the D.C. swamp refused. All because they were putting border jumpers ahead of Americans.
Now their shutdown is hitting one of their most cherished, bloated programs: welfare.
From CNN:
According to the statement, 61% of the Department of Agriculture’s employees would continue to work through the first week of the shutdown, but that number would decrease the longer the shutdown continues.
Some of the agency’s offices to be hit hardest by the closure include the office of Food and Nutrition Services that oversees the Child Nutrition, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).
By the end of the fifth day of the shutdown, staffing will be cut by 95%.
Welfare bureaucracy – is there anything liberals love more?
A variety of assistance programs—government-funded welfare—will be affected by the shutdown.
Democrats have relied on food stamps and other handouts for years. They utilize these government handouts to coerce poor families into voting for them.
SHARE if you think taxpayers spend too much on welfare and not enough on a border wall!
Food stamps and welfare never really help Americans. They only provide just enough to survive. Welfare ensures that poor Americans stay poor—instead of helping them thrive.
According to reports, the shutdown won’t leave needy families in the lurch. But it will impact the offices of these agencies.
Government employees—glorified paper-pushers—will be forced to go home. The very people who complicate our government—putting red tape ahead of people—will be getting a pay cut.
These are the people who suck up tax dollars and provide little in return. I’m not crying over their forced break.
The fact remains that we need reform to all these programs. Americans must be weaned off government support. But that will never happen as long as these government employees call the shots.
Perhaps their furlough will show the president that they’re not really needed after all.
