But it doesn’t seem they are done yet. As the Fall season begins to take shape, we’ve discovered they could soon up-end a 40-year policy that put millions of students at a disadvantage.

The U.S. Supreme Court announced it would hear one of two cases on October 31 that could dismantle the 40-year precedent of race-based affirmative action in university admissions…

Students for Fair Admissions Inc. v. President & Fellows of Harvard College is one of two cases to come before the U.S. Supreme Court urging the Court to eliminate race as an admissions factor and, as a result, overturn the precedent case, Grutter v. Bollinger.

This is big news. The Supreme Court will hear one of two cases that confront the affirmative action admission policies of colleges.

For forty years, colleges and universities have been required to consider race while reviewing a student’s application.

This policy was set years ago, to supposedly prevent colleges from discriminating against minorities.

But it has come to light in recent years that many schools, including Harvard University, are more likely to give special treatment to students of color.

Even if that means rejecting other students who are more qualified academically, especially Asian Americans.

Affirmative action set “quotas” in the workplace and schools. Even if a school wanted to let students in based solely on merit, they had to have a certain percentage of minorities or they’d get sued into oblivion.

Finally, students have mounted a campaign to confront this practice. And with the court taking up the issue now, it is possible that the conservative wing will strike down affirmative action.

What will that mean for colleges? Rest assured, far-left schools will continue to discriminate against worthy students in the name of their woke agenda.

But, students will have more power to sue any school that appears to be prioritizing race over merit.

This will be a huge win for students of all backgrounds—and a massive blow to the left’s agenda.
