Nancy Pelosi’s big play against Trump just backfired – it’s costing Democrats more than they can afford.
Democrats are dragging out the government shutdown instead of making a deal with President Trump on the border wall.
And it looks like playing chicken with Donald is going to cost them.
Democrats need millions on welfare to remain in power. This is why they work so hard to keep the poor dependent on the government.
It’s the only way for them to get enough votes!
Now one of the Left’s biggest voting blocs may be losing their incentive to vote for Democrats.

If the government is not reopened before February, millions of Americans who receive benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) — the nation’s food stamp program — could have their assistance disrupted.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture, which oversees SNAP at the federal level, is one of the agencies unfunded during the partial government shutdown.
Although SNAP is automatically renewed, it has not been allocated funding from Congress beyond January. Congress has appropriated $3 billion in emergency funds for SNAP distribution, but that would not cover all of February’s obligations.

There are currently 41 million Americans, about 1/9th of the country, who use food stamps and will be affected if the program goes unfunded.
But fortunately under President Trump, food stamp enrollment has been steadily decreasing, because the best welfare program is a job.
In fact, the Congressional Budget Office estimates that by 2027, the number of SNAP participants will be around 32.5 million people if things continue at their current rate.
Still, for those still relying on food stamps long term, the suspension of their benefits is sure to cause unrest. But hopefully it will also incentivize people to find jobs so that they will not have to depend on the government.
Food stamps and welfare were never meant to be life-long programs. Sometime people fall on hard times and need the help. But eventually, you need to get off of them.
Stripping SNAP of funding could be the motivation so many Americans need.
Of course, the Democrats will try to blame Trump if food stamps go unfunded, claiming it’s the President’s fault poor Americans can’t eat. But it’s unlikely Americans will buy it.
Already people on the Left are getting sick of the shutdown and are calling for the Democrats in Congress to cave to the President’s demands.
Hopefully they listen and start to put American security first. But in the meantime, hard-working taxpayers are going to save money.
