Just when you thought this presidential election couldn’t get any more bizarre, this story comes along. It sounds too crazy to be true, like something from a fringe conspiracy theory website, but it is 100% accurate.
Local NBC news affiliate WPTV was covering a presidential stop in Kissimmee, Florida, which was near Orlando where the Islamic terror attack occurred not two months ago. It was then that the reporter recognized a familiar face in the crowd.
Omar Mateen, father of the Orlando terrorist, was sitting right behind the candidate during the speech. WPTV reports:
WPTV happened to notice the man, who has a mustache and was wearing a red hat, behind Clinton. It was Seddique Mateen, the father of Orlando mass shooter Omar Mateen. (…)
Mateen didn’t want to answer any other questions, but just hours later, we ran into him by chance at a rest stop on the way back to West Palm Beach. He wanted to do an interview and show us a sign he made for Clinton.
“Hillary Clinton is good for United States versus Donald Trump, who has no solutions,” he said.
What’s worse, Hillary Clinton decided it was best to say they had nothing to do with his attendance and they had no comment on his appearance and endorsement. So they’re admitting that a terrorist’s father could easily gain entrance, without the campaign knowing? It is far more likely that the campaign had knowledge of his presence.
A lot of hot air has been expended denouncing Trump’s allegedly “violent” or “racist” supporters, but what does it say about the Democratic Party if this is the kind of individual they attract? Can you imagine the media’s reaction if the father of a mass murderer showed up at a Trump rally?
