It’s clear that the left have a systemic disregard for our law enforcement.
That is evidenced frequently through their actions and rhetoric. After all, these are the people that give Black Lives Matter—a group the attacks all police for the actions of a few—an audience.
Liberals have hated police ever since the 1960’s, as they viewed the men and women who protect us as “the man.”
Even President Obama’s treatment of law enforcement agencies shows how little regard he has for law and order in our nation.
Yet there are a few leaders in Washington that still respect and support our police. One of them is Congressman Trey Gowdy.
From Conservative Tribune:
During a hearing of the House Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee on immigration,[Democrat Congressman Hank] Johnson tried to accuse the officer — Pinal County, Arizona, Sheriff Paul Babeau — of not supporting any immigration from “south of the border” — an accusation which Babeu vehemently denied…
At that point, Johnson cut off Babeu and tried to move on. That’s where Gowdy stepped in and came to the sheriff’s defense.
No sir. Sheriff you may answer the question. You cannot ask a question and then not allow the witness to answer,” said Gowdy, the subcommittee chairman.
Johnson tried to interrupt Gowdy repeatedly, but Gowdy simply ignored him and allowed Babeu to explain why his department didn’t need a SWAT vehicle.
It’s obvious from the exchange that Johnson was trying to railroad the office, preventing him from answering his questions properly and providing his own defense.
This is indicative of the left’s overall disrespect of our law enforcement officers. They have so little regard for the people who risk their lives to keep us safe, they won’t even let them finishing speaking.
Thankfully we have people like Gowdy, who will show our officers respect. We need true leadership in Washington, ones that won’t wear their prejudice so openly and insult our fundamental agencies.
Come January 20, we will.
