Today is not a good day if you’re a Democrat. After manhandling Americans all throughout last year and driving the economy into the ground this year, Democrats faced a referendum of sorts this election cycle. Not many major races were being held. But the few that were, have been doozies.
Virginia voters handed the GOP a massive win. They not only elected Republican Glenn Youngkin to the governorship, but they elected the first female, black lieutenant governor—who is also a Republican. Not to mention their first Latino attorney general, another Republican.
But those haven’t been the only surprises from this election. In New Jersey, an establishment Democrat is getting beaten by a Republican who spent only $153 on his campaign.
And in what could be a total realignment of politics in NJ, Senate President Steve Sweeney is on the verge of losing his bid for re-election to a 7th term. He trails Republican Edward Durr, a truck driver who reported spending just $153, by 2,009 votes in district. https://t.co/TR3fRt590P

Not a huge surprise that New Jersey hasn’t finished counting their ballots, despite the election ending yesterday. But according to reports, a newcomer named Edward Durr might beat a 7-term Democrat in the state senate.
Edward Durr is a former truck driver, who only spent $153 on his entire campaign. So, why he is poised to defeat this long-serving Democrat? Because he’s a Republican, that’s why. But-but… I thought New Jersey was a Democrat state?
Things are changing all over the country. Americans have been battered by liberals in Congress for nearly two years. Democrat state leaders hammered hard-working Americans with brutal lockdowns all last year. This year, they have harassed them with closed schools and all kinds of mandates.
And that’s not even mentioning how much Democrats in Washington have failed them. The country is reeling from numerous crises, while the Democrats control the White House, the House, and the Senate. It seems like even in NJ, people are clamoring for a change.
The fact that Durr is able to get this close, win or lose, should have Democrats panicking. He didn’t even spend $200 on his campaign—and he could win. What does that tell you about how Americans feel about Democrats right now?
Meanwhile, Republicans celebrated another victory in an Ohio special election.
Republicans celebrated Trump-endorsed Representative-elect Mike Carey’s (R-OH) major win in Ohio’s 15th Congressional District on Tuesday night after facing off against state Rep. Allison Russo (D-OH), whom President Joe Biden endorsed in a last-ditch effort to save her from a Republican defeat.
Seems like Democrats might want to call in sick today.
- Republicans won big in numerous races yesterday.
- A Republican candidate might beat a Democrat state senator in NJ, after only spending $153.
- Many candidates endorsed by Joe Biden suffered major defeats in this year’s election.
