One of the worst school shootings in American history took place in Newtown, Connecticut.
The event turned parents into activists, fighting for stricter laws that infringe upon our 2nd Amendment rights.
Yet, despite the painful memories that event still holds for many, pro-gun Donald Trump is getting more love in the town that anti-gun Clinton.
According to the Newtown Patch, pro-gun Trump received “1,564 votes” from Newtown voters, while anti-gun Clinton received “1,362 votes.”
Statewide, Trump beat his fellow Republican contenders handily by winning “58.27 percent” of the Republican primary votes. Clinton beat Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in a closer race by winning just more than 51 percent of the Democratic primary votes. Sanders garnered “47.15 percent” of the primary votes.
Trump made protecting our 2nd Amendment rights one of his top priorities for his campaign, mentioning it in his announcement speech.
He has since continued to endorse protecting gun owner’s freedom. Clinton, on the other hand, has even made liberal supporters like Howard Stern nervous over her extreme stance on guns.
In a region that is primarily considered liberal, the conservative front-runner is getting more votes and support. Perhaps the tide is turning across America, as more of us are seeing the many flaws in liberal policies.
