Obama talked “bright red lines” against our enemies but wimped out, sending Syria headlong into protracted civil war.
When nations cross the line with President Trump, there isn’t just talk of red lines—there is action.
This is the difference between a politician and a businessman, the elite versus the common man. The latter has common sense, a sense of principles, and a commitment to put America first.
So after it has become apparent that Syria is using chemical weapons on men, women and children, Trump did not twiddle his thumbs and talk about what he might possibly do years from now. He laid down the law.
Here is Trump’s powerful statement with Jordanian King Abdullah II from a joint press conference from the White House. From The Daily Wire:
Yesterday, chemical attack, a chemical attack that was so horrific in Syria against innocent people, including women, small children, and even beautiful little babies, their deaths was an affront to humanity. These heinous actions by the Assad regime cannot be tolerated…
The United States stands with our allies, across the globe, to condemn this horrific attack. And all other horrific attacks.
He also praised and strengthened one of our closest allies in the region:
In King Abdullah, America is blessed with a thoughtful and determined partner. He’s a man who has spent years commanding his country’s special forces. He really knows what is being a soldier is, that, I can tell you. And he knows how to fight.
This may bring significant change to Trump’s policy on Syria. He had remained steadfast through the campaign to keep out of the Syrian conflict and would not consider putting American troops in play.
But the evidence is proving the situation has changed from a ground war amongst multiple players, including Russia and ISIS, to a playground for mass terror and genocide.
As the leader of the free world, these sickening actions cannot stand. Trump will have to walk that fine line between his more isolationist policies, which allow America to be at its best, and intervening in horrific situations that conscience dictates cannot be allowed to continue.
Thank God we have an uncommonly principled man at the helm of our great nation—and not a blood-sucking politician.
