Trump Didn’t Call Senator Kirsten Gillibrand A Slut, But One Democrat Leader Clearly Did

Use Twitter at your own peril, folks. The once fun social network has become a mine-field of disaster. At least if you’re a liberal. It seems like high-profile democrats can’t help themselves. They frequently embarrass themselves or their allies. All thanks to President Trump.

Donald Trump understands Twitter. He’s been using the platform long before he was elected. Trump understands the power a simple tweet can have. He can post a strongly-worded message, aimed at a rival. Then he can watch them meltdown.

Democrats frequently dig their own holes when reacting to Trump’s tweets. This time around, it was in response to his tweet about democrat New Yorker Gillibrand. In his usual style, he called out her hypocrisy.

But Elizabeth Warren’s response has people talking.

From The Maven:

As most everyone’s attention was focused on the Senate debacle unfolding in Alabama yesterday, another interesting tidbit popped up for the “world’s most deliberative body.” Democrat Senator Elizabeth Warren managed to inadvertently call Democrat Senator Kristen Gillibrand a slut…

It all started, as most war-of-words exchanges do these days, with a tweet from President Trump:

At first reading, I did not take Trump’s “and would do anything for them” to have a sexual connotation at all. I took it more along the lines of meaning she’s a typically desperate politician who would sell her own mother if it meant a few extra bucks for her campaign fund…

But others did take it that way, and given Trump’s history of provocative talk about women, I won’t fault them. One such offended party was Elizabeth Warren who decided to “defend” Gillibrand by, well, calling her colleague a slut:

Don’t be distracted by the “she persisted” dead mule that Warren has kicked into oblivion. Take not instead of her reference to “slut-shaming.” In case you were unaware, a person is slut-shamed when they are made to feel bad about their promiscuous conduct. Those who oppose slut-shaming tend to come from the perspective that a woman should be allowed to sleep around if she wants to without any sense of remorse or guilt.

In other words, Senator Elizabeth Warren essentially said to the President, “Sure Kristen Gillibrand is willing to sleep around in order to get campaign contributions, but she’s entitled to do that! Who are you to tell her that’s not an appropriate way of getting cash?”

You want to know what’s really amazing? Had Warren said nothing, people wouldn’t have noticed. Trump tweets all the time. He usually talks about major issues. His supporters are more interested in his plans for America. A single tweet about Gillibrand would have been buried under many others.

But Warren couldn’t help herself. She had to take the bait. In trying to “defend” Gillibrand, Warren calls her a slut! How stupid do you have to be to do that?

Most people outside New York don’t care about one of their Senators. Warren drew attention to Gillibrand with her insane response. Only proving how self-absorbed democrats in D.C. are.

The rest of us? We don’t think about you.

But now we are. Be sure to spread the word about this hilarious development. Warren needs to learn how to use Twitter better.
