On Thursday millions of people watched as former FBI Director James Comey testified before the Senate.
Many democrats were convinced he’d expose the President. They were expecting Comey to reveal secrets about the Commander-in-Chief, specifically that Trump tried to interfere with FBI investigations.
Instead Comey dropped another bombshell, one that will surely get him into hot water.
Fired FBI Director James Comey appeared in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee to testify about his interactions with President Trump as they relate to the federal government’s Russia probe — and there’s been some significant revelations thus far…
After his firing and this Trump tweet, Comey asked a close friend of his — Columbia law professor Daniel Richman — to leak the content of his memos to the media with the hope of triggering the appointment of a special counsel.
Among the many things he said, Comey made it clear that Trump was not being investigated by the FBI. His testimony also made it clear that Trump did not try to interfere with any investigation. That ruins much of the attacks the left have been mounting against the POTUS.
Yet Comey’s outed himself as one of the D.C. leakers. He purposely had a friend leak his memos to the press, just to stir up controversy and suspicion.
This has been the man’s pattern for years. He has not shown loyalty to the country or to the sitting president, only himself. The fact that so much attention has been paid to an FBI director shows he craves the spotlight.
But this time, his words damned himself.
There has been much trouble over Washington leakers. Sensitive material has been given to the press, simply to undermine the administration. That is tantamount to treason.
For Comey to leak his private conversations with the president to the press is very bad. Those were privileged conversations between himself and the President; they were not for others to hear.
Even if there is not a direct law being broken, Comey put himself into a difficult situation. He is now guilty of working against the president and by extension, the American people.
…and now Donald Trump has hit back! At his press conference with the Romanian president, Trump was asked about Comey’s testimony. Uh-Oh!
