Already President Trump has worked to undo Obama’s legacy. Some, even on the Left, have announced he’s undone all of Obama’s major achievements.
That alone is worth celebrating. But there’s even more good news.
Obama regularly hit American businesses with regulations and restrictions. Pretending to care about the environment and other causes, he went out of his way to punish American workers and companies.
Foreign nations, who do far more damage to the planet (ahem: China!) he let walk all over him.
But finally, Trump is fixing a major Obama sin.
And it will help all Americans.
From Fox News:
The Trump administration is escalating an effort to revive the flagging U.S. coal industry with a planned move next week to replace restrictive Obama-era climate policies with new rules designed to help coal-burning plants run harder and stay open longer.
The proposed new rules, which the Environmental Protection Agency plans is expected to release within days, would be the latest in a series of reversals of policies the Obama administration adopted to slow climate change. It would replace the agency’s so-called Clean Power Plan for the electricity business with regulations that cede power to states…
President Trump has repeatedly promised to support coal, an industry beset by a shrinking customer base, competition, falling prices and bankruptcies; the plan may be his administration’s most ambitious effort yet to kill regulations on coal’s behalf.
Obama and his rabid environmentalists hated coal. Why? Because it was so bad for the environment?
Not really. That was their excuse. But, like all politicians in the hands of globalists, Obama fought to help foreign nations thrive. At America’s expense.
Eliminating American coal-fired plants made us more dependent on foreign sources of energy.
It’s not as if we were going to need less electricity. Without coal, we were forced to buy energy from places overseas.
That was good news, for foreign nations, businesses, and American companies that invested overseas.
The end result were higher costs, fewer jobs, and less American energy independence. It was never about “climate change.”
President Trump has time and again promised to put Americans first. He is doing everything his power to help American workers and consumers. In keeping with that promise, he’s making sure coal workers can do what they do best.
And we can become less dependent on foreign powers.
