Another feud bites the dust! Back in February, when broadcaster Hugh Hewitt asked Donald Trump about his tax returns during a Republican candidates debate, Trump shot back that not many people listened to Hewitt’s radio show.
The two men have clearly moved on, and this week Trump was Hewitt’s guest. They covered a variety of topics but one remark by the GOP candidate has a lot of folks talking.
Trump’s full comments are in the video below. He relates he thought process on choosing his Secretary of State and the right timing to make the official announcement
Breitbart reports that Trump named former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton as his potential secretary of state:
“I think John Bolton’s a good man,” Trump replied. “I watched him yesterday, actually, and he was very good in defending me in some of my views, and very, very strong. And I’ve always liked John Bolton. Well, we are thinking about it, Hugh. I will say that. We are thinking about it. I mean, the negative is what I told you. But we are seriously thinking about it.”
Some will cheer this remark, recalling Bolton’s performance in that capacity as a no-nonsense patriot.
For other conservative voters, however, Bolton is part of the President Bush crowd and they were likely hoping Trump would favor cabinet members removed from that “inside the Beltway” legacy. Trump’s camp will be watching the reaction to this statement and no doubt it will impact any final decision.
