The last argument that #NeverTrump had to make had to do with polling in the general election.
For months, national polls have shown Hillary Clinton beating Donald Trump in a head-to-head match-up.
For the Cruz people, this was evidence that the Republican Party was committing suicide if they nominated Trump.
Of course this ignored the fact that Clinton beat Cruz in most of those polls as well.
But now it appears that the worm has turned. Following his massive wins in the northeast, things no longer look as rosy for Clinton or the #NeverTrump crowd.
According to Rasmussen Reports latest survey…
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely U.S. Voters finds Trump and Clinton tied at 38% each. But 16% say they would vote for some other candidate if the presidential election comes down to those two, while six percent (6%) would stay home.
Despite claims that Trump is dangerously weak among women, the poll had another interesting finding, Clinton and Trump have identical gender gaps…effectively neutralizing another #NeverTrump argument…
Despite speculation that Trump may have a problem with women voters, women and men are equally likely to say they would stay home or vote third party in the event of a Clinton-Trump race. Men prefer Trump by six points, while women give Clinton the edge by a similar margin.
