Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren may have once been a front-runner consideration for the Democratic ticket for president and after that flame died, a leading contender for the vice presidential slot with Hillary Clinton.
But those days are long gone, and she’s hardly the political powerhouse voice she once was – as evidenced by a recent ambush by a college student at a Clinton campaign event, who outed her on social media as a hypocrite.
Warren was mocking Trump at Clinton’s Ohio State University event over the weekend, saying the billionaire businessman was forced by “his handlers” to “grudgingly” admit President Obama was born in America, exposing in the process his “dark and ugly soul,” the Independent Journal Review reported – when a student who apparently had enough of the hypocrisy, reminded the senator of her past.
“[The] student invited her to take a selfie – and then ambushed her,” IJR reported. “He accused her of lying about her ethnicity and asked, ‘How do you feel about losing to Trump this year?'”
Social media was quick to point out Warren’s speedy exit from the event – and from the student’s questions.
One wrote on Twitter: “Liz couldn’t get away fast enough. What a setup. Well done.”
Another, IJR reported: “She got TRUMPED.”
And a third: “Pocohontas gets punked by Trump supporter. She couldn’t run away fast enough.”
Warren has been accused in recent years of declaring herself of Native American heritage to expand her job opportunities.
Trump, in fact, said this about her in June: “She made up her heritage, which I think is racist. I think she’s a racist, actually because what she did was very racist. She used the fact that she was Native American to advance her career. Elizabeth Warren is a total fraud,” New York Magazine reported.
