Is there anything more pointless than the White House Correspondent’s Dinner?
For years the mainstream media has thrown this event. Radical, liberal outlets can’t help but fawn over how important they think they are. They hope that politicians and Washington elitists will attend to curry the media’s favor.
But in this day and age, the mainstream media is dead. Want proof of this? Well, you’re reading the Patriot Journal, not the New York Times.
Online media from independent, honest outlets are quickly replacing them. The bloated, corrupt news sources that once controlled our society will soon be history.
They have become so pointless that for the first time, a sitting President will not attend their bogus dinner.
Recently President Donald Trump made it clear that he would not be attending the Correspondent’s Dinner. It was a shocking break from tradition. And it will certainly mean the event’s eventual demise.
But this week he has announced his alternate plans. And it’s sure to boil the media’s blood.
Next Saturday night I will be holding a BIG rally in Pennsylvania. Look forward to it!

President Trump announced Saturday afternoon that he will be holding a rally that happens to be the same night as the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
“Next Saturday night I will be holding a BIG rally in Pennsylvania. Look forward to it!” Trump wrote on Twitter.
The announcement comes after Trump made the decision to skip the annual dinner in February, breaking with the tradition presidents in recent years have set by attending the event.
The rally will be held April 29 in Harrisburg, the same day as Trump marks the 100th day of his presidency, Politico reported.
A senior White House official said the decision to hold the rally that day had more to do with how Trump planned to spend the hours of the 100th day than the correspondents’ dinner.
“The media is trying to make this about them when — respectfully it has nothing to do with you guys,” said the official. “It’s about focusing on the people.”
Just think how delicious this is. While the media try to cast a huge spotlight on themselves at this dinner, Trump will be holding a big rally in PA. He is forcing the rest of the country to ignore the media.
It’s fitting. This president has never had a good relationship with the mainstream media. Even from the outset of his campaign, they have attacked and vilified him.
He has zero reasons to play nice with them—but plenty to humiliate them.
Not attending the dinner was insult number one. The second was to hold a big event that will take attention away from their pointless pageant.
We live in an age when the people of the country control the national conversation. What a breath of fresh air!
The elitists in the media and D.C. no longer hold the reins of our society. They are fighting tooth and nail to stop it.
Yet they will continue to fail. President Trump will see to that.
