Many of Donald Trump’s strongest supporters were confused and disappointed when he seemed to back away from one of his campaign’s hallmark talking points.
Who can forget Trump’s brilliant comeback at the debates, when he said if he were president, Hillary Clinton would be in jail? Or the chants of “Lock her up” at every one of his rallies?
Now, however, it’s possible that Trump will do the next best thing, and Hillary Clinton will still be held to account for at least some of her activities.
Katherine Rodriguez reports for Breitbart.com:
President-elect Donald Trump’s administration will encourage foreign governments to investigate the Clinton Foundation’s finances, according to a source close to the transition team.
“Haiti and Colombia will be key diplomatic posts for this because of all the money involved,” said the source.
Senior foundation officials coordinated with the State Department to give “Friends of Bill” Clinton preferential treatment during earthquake recovery efforts in Haiti in 2010, according to emails obtained by the Republican National Committee through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit.
It’s important to keep in mind that an unnamed “source close to the transition team” is still a long way from an official statement from the President-elect himself.
However, Trump voters can take away some assurance that the matter of the Clinton family’s wrongdoing hasn’t been forgotten entirely.
