Donald Trump’s not one to hold back the rhetoric.
If he finds a weakness in a candidate, he will exploit it for all it’s worth.
We have seen this time and again with Bush, Paul and Rubio.
Too bad for Cruz, considering he’s not even a natural-born American citizen.
Trump was outspoken recently over the fact that Ted Cruz was born in Canada and only recently became an American citizen.
By the very clear definition in the Constitution, he cannot run for President. Odd that a “Constitutionalist” missed that obvious rule.
“[Cruz] was a Canadian citizen until 14, 15 months ago,” Trump explained. “He’s not going to win, but if he did, the first thing the Democrats are going to do is sue him on the basis that he’s not a naturalized citizen, he wasn’t born in the country.”
It wouldn’t be surprising for the Democrats to pull that sort of thing, should Cruz ever make it to the Presidency. A case like that would go to the Supreme Court, the very last place we want deciding who should be President.
Why should we let Cruz take our country down that road? He should do the honorable thing and bow out of the race now.
