After a lot of hand-wringing and hot air, it finally happened: The big concert celebrating Donald Trump’s win took place at the Lincoln Memorial.
The massive crowd cheered the performers who had the courage to appear despite massive criticism from their show biz peers (and, in the case of world famous opera singer Andrea Bocelli, reported death threats.)
One outspoken Hollywood Trump supporter, Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight, was also on hand to welcome the audience. His remarks were optimistic and upbeat. Inspired by the concert’s location, Voight speculated about what one former president would make of the election results.
Jerome Hudson reports for Breitbart:
Voight continued, recounting that the election was “a barrage of propaganda that left us all breathless with anticipation not knowing if God could reverse all the negative lies against Mr. Trump, whose only desire was to make America great again.”
“He certainly didn’t need this job. And yes, God answered all our prayers,” the Oscar-winner said.
Voight assured the crowd that Abraham Lincoln was smiling knowing “America will be saved by an honest and good man who will work for all the people, no matter their creed or color.”
Jon Voight has been subjected to enormous criticism for his support of conservative causes in general and Trump in particular. It’s inspiring to see anyone face down such derision and refuse to be bowed. For all those lesser known Americans who dealt with similar criticism, Voight is a hero.
