By now, pretty much everyone living outside the caves of America has heard how the Hamilton cast treated VP-elect Mike Pence.
But just in case a refresher’s needed: Pence and his wife went to see the New York City production and while inside were treated to some good old-fashioned city kindness – insert sarcasm here. Basically, Pence was announced as present, booed and then lectured from the stage about the need for proper politicking – none of this silly conservative, redneck, racist stuff.
Those on the right, and in their right mind, called the incident both tactless and outrageous, especially when members of the theater actually tried to teach Pence what was right politically, with a patronizing expression of their fears of Donald Trump. Those on the left, of course, tried to paint the lecture as justified and helpful, and expressed outrage that Pence just wouldn’t listen, admit they were right and turn into a liberal on the spot.
And Judge Jeanine Pirro, in her “Opening Statement” on Fox News, had this to say, Breitbart reported: “The treatment of vice president-elect Mike Pence … was both outrageous and embarrassing. What happened in that theater … was out and out reverse racism and teed up hate for a man who has done nothing to deserve this inappropriate and disgusting behavior by those who take it upon themselves to use what was supposed to be a night of art and recreation and appreciation for our American history as a political bully pulpit to chide the incoming vice president.”
It was also, she said, hypocritical.
Pirro went on, blasting Democrats, Breitbart noted: “What happened to your old, ‘Love trumps hate’ line? You’re all damn hypocrites. You think that you and people who think like you are the only ones who deserve respect.”
