Susan Rice and scandal go together like a horse and carriage.
Not only did Rice lie for the Obama administration about Benghazi, she has also been implicated for the part she played in the Trump wiretapping scandal. This complete violation of the law is what led to Michael Flynn’s resignation.
But the former National Security Advisor has never been punished for her lies, abuses of authority and general misconduct.
Many Americans are hoping that this can change now that new information has revealed Rice’s role in spying on Trump’s transition team.
Prosecutor Trey Gowdy definitely seems to think that it’s a possibility.
From Mad World News:
During a recent interview with Fox News Insider, Trey Gowdy laid out the facts for Rice, who has made it clear that she will not testify or help with the Senate Intelligence Committee’s investigation in any way. The mere fact that a former National Security Advisor will not cooperate in a federal investigation is very telling.
Despite Rice’s attempts to run from the truth, Mr. Gowdy is an expert at “compelling” witnesses to appear.
He went on to say in his interview that even though Rice had rejected his invitation, “There are other ways to invite people other than via letter. There are things called subpoenas. You shouldn’t have to use them with a former National Security Advisor, but if you do, you do.”
The question is, will Susan Rice be willing to take the fall for Obama? If Rice is subpoenaed and forced to testify, many are worried she will just plead the fifth and get away scot free like Lois Lerner did during the IRS scandal.
Gowdy is attempting to avoid this by discussing the possibility of a closed door meeting. If he can negotiate a deal with Rice in exchange for information about what Obama knew, maybe we can finally learn what happened.
Refusing such an offer could land Rice in prison for obstruction of justice. No matter what she decides to do, it should be fun to watch her squirm as it all plays out.
