World leaders have been lining up to meet, congratulate and work with President-elect Donald Trump on his own New York City turf.
One of those leaders had some very flattering things to say after his meeting, and angry American lefties won’t be happy about it.
Right Wing News reports:
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had a “very candid discussion” with the President-elect when they met at Trump Tower in Manhattan. After a lengthy 90-minute meeting with Trump, Abe told reporters, “[I am] convinced that Mr. Trump is a leader in whom I can have confidence.”
Even with Trump’s campaign trail promises and remarks like naming Japan as a trade rival, condemning the Japanese for not paying their share for U.S. defense and making promises to tear up the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), a trade deal supported by Abe and his administration. (…)
Abe did (…) comment that the discussion between the two leaders was in a “warm atmosphere” and that he would like to meet with Trump further down the road in order to have “wider and deeper talks.”
So much for all the worries that Trump didn’t have the temperament to be president and that his quick, outspoken nature would make enemies and create international scandals.
If Hillary Clinton had won, she probably would have demanded that Abe make a “donation” to the Clinton Foundation before even agreeing to meet with him.
