This week’s prize for most ridiculously partisan political statement goes to – Bill Maher, HBO host of “Real Time.”
What’d he say?
Only this, from Breitbart – and it’s just about the most anti-Donald Trump, pro-Hillary Clinton statement you could make: “Pneumonia? I’d vote for Dead Hillary in this race.”
Maher made the claim in a tweet. And he wasn’t yet finished.
“She could be Patient Zero for Bubonic Plague,” he went on, “still better than #TangerineNightmare.”
The Twitter message came just a couple days after he joked on his talk show in a similar manner, telling his audience that he’d much prefer a “dead” Clinton to vote for that a live Trump, Breitbart reported.
Maher’s also shown his hard left side on Twitter in plenty of other messages over the last few days.
In one, he wrote: “I like #GaryJohnson but #Aleppo is not onle of the Marx Brothers. Don’t f[—] around with this elections; vote for Hillary, nobody’s perfect.”
In another: “To those who say #Trump spoke 2 diff messages to 2 diff audiences today, he says ‘Exactly.’ In a stupid country, that works. Be very afraid.”
And in a recent show in Washington, D.C., Maher seemed to call – albeit, masked in comedy – for violence against Trump.
As Breitbart reported, he referenced the tight race between Trump and Clinton and said somebody “is going to have to go out there” and do something – and shortly after, spoke of John Hinckley Jr., who tried to assassinate Ronald Reagan, and his recent release from psychiatric imprisonment.
“I’m nervous with this election,” he said. “I saw the headline today, ‘Race tightening, Trump ahead in Ohio and Florida.’ If this race is even the week before the election, somebody is going to have to go out there … Why do you think they let Hinckley out?”
