Colin Powell is the bombshell media gift that keeps on giving.
The latest revelation from his email box dishes up a juicy assessment of Hillary Clinton’s own husband – in less than respectful tones.
Here’s what he said, in a July 2014 message, Hot Air reported: “I would rather not have to vote for [Hillary Clinton], although she is a friend I respect. A 70-year person with a long track record, unbridled ambition, greedy, not transformational, with a husband still d-cking bimbos at home (according to the NYP).”
The emails come courtesy DCLeaks.com, a site that posts hacked information and that has suspected ties to Russia, as the Daily Beast reported. And Powell’s office did tell the New York Times that the emails weren’t faked.
In another email, he spoke critically of Hillary Clinton, saying: “Everything HRC touches she kind of screws up with hubris,” the Daily Beast said.
And in yet other emails, Powell reportedly mentioned how poor Clinton’s health seemed – a nugget her campaign critics have seized upon to show how far back her medical ailments stem.
But lost among the flurry of revelations is something Hot Air pointed out: Powell’s reputation may suffer.
“Powell’s in a weird position politically now, though, huh? For the past eight years he’s been the sensible above-it-all kinda sorta nonpartisan guy who hates the right and was happy to say nice things about Obama,” Hot Air wrote. “Now here he is knifing Clinton repeatedly in private like an old lady gossiping at lunch.”
