The apple doesn’t fall from the tree, as they say.
And while the world’s known Bill and Hillary Clinton are nearly tied on the scandal count – which, if looked at through jaded eyes, means they’re a perfect match for each other – daughter Chelsea has been held to a different regard, seen in a different light, afforded a more generous character appraisal.
But that’s all changing, it seems.
From the Proud Conservative: “Hillary Clinton made connections for her daughter Chelsea’s friend, which may have led to lucrative government contracts, new emails from the Department of State reveal.”
So Chelsea could very well be taking the same quid pro quo page out of the book frequently read and ripped by her parents.
Apparently, Hillary, while secretary of State, set up meetings for Jacqueline Newmyer-Deal, a long-time friend of Chelsea’s – since childhood, in fact – and the president of Long Term Strategy Group, with Pentagon officials, the Washington Free Beacon found.
And what became of those meetings?
“[They] led to consulting contracts for Deal’s D.C.-based Long Term Strategy Group,” Proud Conservative reported.
The contracts were pretty lucrative.
“Deal’s Long Term Strategy Group received more than $1.3 million from DoD contracts in 2009, according to USAspending.gov,” Proud Conservative reported.
The Pentagon also paid the group $60,000 for reports, and another $40,000 for workshops.
All told, “Long Term Strategy Group has gotten around $6 million in federal contracts since 2009,” the Washington Free Beacon reports.
WikiLeaks indicates other contracts came as well, spanning several years and totaling several million.
